Scrap Quilt

This is my scrappy quilt. I love this quilt. I first saw this idea at Crazy Mom Quilts. I loved it so much that when I first saw it I pulled out all my scraps and put them into color piles. There was no pattern on the blog so I had to come up with my own. Which was really neat because I had never really done this before. Once I started and had all these pieces all over the bed I thought what have I gotten myself into. But then it started to come together and ended up working out.
I found a cute yellow pattern for the back that has tiny white flowers on it. I know the picture did not come out that clear.

But what I really wanted to show you was that I matched the binding to the section. So the yellow section got a yellow binding, etc. This really made the quilt in my opinion. While I was making it everyone kept asking who is this quilt for. I decided to keep this one for myself. It contains scraps from all the quilts I have made and I love seeing all the different fabrics pooled together to make one big quilt. I am keeping it in my sewing room where I can see it every time I quilt.

  1. Clever idea! Glad you are going to keep it for yourself...we have to fill up our cups sometime so we will be able to empty them.
